How Dreambooth Works
Platform vs Photobooth App
| Platform (Dashboard) | Photobooth App | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Web browser | Booth PC (Windows) |
| Who uses it | Owner/Admin/Operator | Guests + operator |
| What it does | Create projects, frames, filters, vouchers; view gallery, transactions, analytics; manage account and devices | Runs the session: welcome, payment, capture, selection, result, print; syncs with the active project |
You configure everything in the Platform. The Photobooth App on each booth PC loads the active project and applies your frames, filters, and voucher rules. When a session finishes, media can upload to the platform for reprints or gallery use.
Session Flow
A typical session on the booth:
- Welcome — Guest sees your branding and (if enabled) payment options.
- Checkout / Payment — Optional integrated payment (e.g. QRIS) before capture.
- Capture — Camera takes photos (with optional retakes).
- Photo selection — Guest picks which photos to use.
- Result — Final output (e.g. strip or single) is shown; print is triggered if a printer is configured.
- Upload — Session media is uploaded to the platform (when online).
Flow order (e.g. “start with payment” or “apply filter after capture”) can be adjusted in the project settings on the platform.
How Customization Reaches the Booth
- Projects — Define the active experience (layout, flow options, which frame set and filters).
- Frames — Templates and overlays used in the final output.
- Filters — LUT or legacy/manual filters applied in the app.
- Vouchers — Discount or free-session codes used at checkout.
Changes in the dashboard sync to the app when it has internet; the booth uses the active project for all new sessions.
Subscription Model (Per-Device)
- Subscription is per device (per booth PC running the Photobooth App).
- Each licensed device can run the app, sync its project, and upload sessions.
- What you unlock: full app features, payment integration, uploads, and support as per your plan. Moving a license to another PC is possible per your account rules (see Account & Subscription).
Common Operation Models
- Manual start — Operator launches the app when the booth opens; may lock the screen or leave it on the welcome step between guests.
- Auto start — App is configured to start with Windows (or a helper) so the booth is ready after power-on; operator still performs a quick health check (camera, printer, project loaded).
