Booth Readiness Checklist (Opening Checklist)

Use this checklist when opening the photobooth so the app, camera, printer, and project are ready for guests.

Goal: Required System State

Before accepting guests, ensure:

  • App — Photobooth App is launched and shows the welcome/project screen.
  • Camera — Detected; preview and capture work.
  • Printer — Detected and ready (if you use printing); paper loaded.
  • Project — Correct project is active and synced (branding, frames, flow match what you expect).

Common setup patterns: manual start (operator launches the app when opening) or auto start (app starts with Windows; operator still does a quick check).

60-Second Health Check

  1. Power on the PC and any external devices (printer, lighting).
  2. Connect — Ensure camera and printer are connected and detected (Windows Device Manager or app status).
  3. Launch the Dreambooth Photobooth App (if not auto-start).
  4. Confirm the correct project is selected and session credits or subscription are sufficient.
  5. Test capture and print — Run one capture and one print to verify camera and printer before opening to guests.
  6. Clear any queued or stuck jobs from the previous day if applicable.

First Test Print

  • After the health check, do a full test: welcome → capture → selection → result → print.
  • Confirm paper size and layout match your project (see Printer Issues if wrong size or not detected).

Cables, Power, and Network

  • Cables: Keep USB and power cables firmly connected and away from foot traffic; don’t yank to disconnect.
  • Power: Use a stable power source; don’t unplug PC or printer during a session or during uploads.
  • Network: Use a stable connection for sync and uploads; prefer wired Ethernet when possible. See Network Issues if sync fails.

Closing (End of Day)

  1. Stop accepting new sessions (disable payment or close queue as per your setup).
  2. Allow in-progress sessions to complete (capture, select, print).
  3. Let uploads and sync finish if the app shows progress.
  4. Close the Photobooth App gracefully (exit/quit, not force kill unless necessary).
  5. Power off printer, then PC (or follow device-specific order).
  6. Secure cables and cover equipment if required.

Expected Result

The app is ready for guests: project loaded, camera and printer work, test output acceptable. After closing, equipment is off and the next opening can start cleanly.
