Queue, Retake, Reprints

Definitions

  • Queue — The order in which guests are served (e.g. one session at a time per device, or a physical/waiting line). The app typically runs one session at a time per booth.
  • Retake — The guest redoes part of the session (e.g. new capture or re-select photos) within the same session, as allowed by the project’s retake settings.
  • Reprint — Printing the same result again after the session (e.g. from the result screen or from the gallery in the dashboard), when the first print failed or the guest needs another copy.

Retake Flow (When a Session Can Be Repeated)

  • Retake rules (how many retakes, at which steps) are set in the project on the dashboard (e.g. retake at capture or at selection).
  • If a guest is allowed a retake (misfire, wrong selection), use the app’s flow to start a new capture or return to the appropriate step as allowed by the project.
  • Do not force-close the app mid-session unless necessary; prefer completing or cancelling within the app so the session state stays consistent.
  • From result screen — If the app shows a reprint option after the result, use it to print again (e.g. failed or poor first print).
  • From gallery — In the dashboard Gallery, find the session by session ID (or filters) and use the reprint action if supported.
  • Avoid printing the same selection repeatedly without fixing the printer (paper size, connection, driver); see Printer Issues.

Limits and Edge Cases

  • Queue: If “session not found” or sync issues affect the flow, check network and see Network Issues. Handle the guest per your policy (rerun, refund).
  • Retake: Project-specific limits apply; the operator cannot grant more retakes than the project allows.
  • Reprint: Some plans or projects may limit reprints; check your dashboard and project settings. Data retention for gallery reprints may also apply.
